Production is in full swing here in Brooklyn at the LEIFTech HQ. Throughout beta testing we have discovered a few things that have helped us to make a better board. One of our discoveries was that tall people with really narrow stances or short people with really wide stances have chosen deck sizes that might not be the best fit for them. Therefore, we have added a range of stance width options rather than just one stance width for each deck by adding multiple binding mount locations - just like you would find on a snowboard. This week, we got to work with and test the Beta remote control PCBs.   Remote Control PCB Testing   This week, we began testing the Beta remote control PCB hardware and software - and so far everything is working perfectly. The board is running great and we have sent the specs for four Beta PCBs last Friday. All other mechanical and electrical components have been tested and approved, and most of the mechanical parts are already in the warehouse waiting for assembly. Our final motor controller PCBs arrived last Friday and we've been hard at work populating and testing these boards for final production. Phase 1: Get all electrical components working (4-5 days) Right now, components like mosfet transistors and capacitors are being added and tested one-by-one in a meticulous fashion to ensure quality and longevity of the board. If all components were added to the board, and something fried, then we would have no idea where the issue is happening - therefore, we are testing one-by-one. We just received our first shipment of motors (220 units so far!) and the quality, precision and appearance of the production motors is beyond our expectations. Originally invented in 1888 by Nikola Tesla, the 3-phase A/C motor is capable of generating a ton of power while taking up the fraction of the space that a traditional DC motor would require. The LEIFTech 3-phase A/C motors are small enough to fit unnoticed under the deck while providing enough power (1,295 watts!) to climb hills and travel up to 8 miles per charge. Here's a quick update on the production progress & shipping estimates: Our Electronic Engineering team is wrapping up the PCB design that will allow for the traction control, regenerative braking, battery management, bluetooth communication and more. These PCBs are on track to wrap up development and testing by the last week of May, with a target deadline of submitting our final order to the PCB manufacturer on May 30th.
